I had one years ago; my late brother took it. I just got this one. and had my first workout with it. It has a heavy alloy construction, with knurled grips that will be handy if your hands sweat. This is the classic adjustable grip trainer. Same as ever, it delivered a powerful challenge, and at a fraction of the cost of continually purchasing new strengths of hand grips of the standard type. Even the adjustable ones are no match for this. You'll get a grip like a gorilla, and forearms like Popeye using this and a few well-chosen curling exercises.With six springs (Which together can deliver a resistance equivalent to 1,000 pounds, and trust me, you'll almost certainly never get there!) it has so many levels that even grip exercise enthusiasts will be challenged. It's an old fashioned piece of equipment that has earned its place in your training arsenal. It comes with a sheet showing the available resistances of well over 200 pounds using only two springs, and it's expandable way beyond that, just do the math. It includes a nylon bag to take it to the gym.One caveat: setting up the springs can be tricky, but there are videos online to assist you. Just always leave it in the loose position when not in use, and those springs will never stretch.If you want a strong grip, useful for most weight bearing exercises and so many day-to-day tasks, this is the best place to start!

Got this to cheap out on CoC grippers because I was between whole numbers.Pros:- Resistance seems accurate compared with CoC but I'm not testing RGC- Very customizable so you can easily increase the weight incrementally if it's too easy or feels off- 2 springs makes more than enough resistance unless you're a gorilla so you basically have 4 spare springs for when you wear down the first two.Cons:- Not satisfying to close... I like hearing the click of a traditional gripper.- Knurling is quite bad- there's zero overlap between people who train grip and people who have tender hands. Might use grip spray on the handle.- Because of the shape you can't really "set" it so this is best for large hands.I want to like it and will absolutely use it but I'm looking forward to the next threshold to use another Captain because they feel so much better than this.

I love that it is adjustable so I save tons of money that I would otherwise spend on buying multiple gripper sets. The design is simple yet brilliant. Very solid construction and a great value for the money.

This is a wonderful gripper that can be easily adjusted to different force settings. Why spend hundreds of dollars buying grippers of different force values when for under $50 one can achieve more sertings than ever needed, as well as exceed maximum forces humanly possible? Also, it is hefty and very well made. All that is lacking is a paper force chart with the gripper but they do provide a downloadable chart. Also, the method used to determine forces is not shown or discussed. The designated forces exceed those of individual grippers I have. People who compete in grip strength will want an accurate chart. The company making these excellent grippers is cheating itself by not providing a paper force chart and its method and accuracy of force determinations. I love these grippers, and could havesaved myself tons of money if I had known they existed before I had bought single force value grippers.

Only issue was difficulty with putting on springs
