Much easier to use than older multimeters
I was struck by the slim size and low weight (88g) of the meter. It came with two AAA batteries which were easy to fit. I was a bit sceptical of the Auto claim, however it does sense what type of test you wish to carry out. I tested it out on a household fuse by touching the probes on either end. Without having to turn any dials or knobs , the meter gave a reassuring "bleep" and a green light flashed. I did another similar test on a AAA battery and again the meter showed a voltage reading which looked pretty accurate. Not being an electrician I am not 100% sure what the Non-contact AC voltage detection (NCV) does. It looks like you hold the meter near to a live source and it gives a reading. The manual is not very clear on this. The low battery warning looks a good idea and I have yet to test how long batteries last. According to the Manual, the meter switches off automatically it did not also say that you can switch it off simply by pressing the red Power button. All in all it looks to be a very useful piece of kit to have in the household tool box.

Decent for price
Decent pocket sized meter for quick voltage checks. Not any good for fault finding

Brilliant! this automatically knows what test to carry out
This meter is very clever, you don't need to select what you're going to be testing, in other words whether you're testing voltage, or resistance, or conductivity etc. My last meter had a knob and loads and loads of settings, a lot of which I didn't understand anyway, so this is brilliant, it just knows what your testing. With my old meter I sometimes didn't know whether the device I was testing was faulty or not, or whether I had set the knob to the correct setting on the machine beforehand, but with this you just don't need to do that, it automatically knows what tests to do!

I haven't fried myself yet.
Idiot proof so far. I've not blown my self up or fried myself on the multicoloured electrical string yet.
