Use a lot lately it is a WONDERFUL item and cuts my RESOLDERING time in Half. Heas Up Fast.

It's not a Hakko and that's fine since it's about half the cost. It worked fine right out of the box. It comes with 3 different size nozzles, so use the most appropriate one for best results. No documentation was included with mine, but operating it is straight forward. It has a temperature control dial on the handle with a red LED to let you know it's heating up. It seems to be always on while plugged in, no auto sleep. The temperature range is 350 - 450C. I have only used it a few times since I've only had it for a couple of weeks but for the price - it's worth it. I'm happy with it. BTW, the stand will stay up if you give it a bit of a 'push'. It has 2 pins that lock into the two holes that are intended to keep it in place.

The gun already jammed on me, right now I had to order a new tip and hopefully pray that the only thing jammed is the tip, hopefully replacing it will solve this issue. The gun helped me desolder about 10 60% mechanical keyboards, so about 1,200 joints so far. Cleaning it is also super easy! I really like it but can't increase my rating until I unjam it, if it stays jammed then I'm lowering my rating to one star. Be careful!Edit: Replaced tip and the gun is still jammed, I've literally used it for less then a month and it broke on me. They purposely made the warranty only 30 days because they know it will break on you right after the warranty ends on the product so you are out $100 with a hot paper weight. Going to contact amazon about this issue to see what can be done. I don't recommend this desolder gun at all. The next one I'm buying is going to be the Hakko desolder gun, I've only ever heard good things about that one.

I used this to replace all the capacitors on my Sega Genesis Model 1 VA7, and I did mess up some pads because I used too much heat, but it's my fault not the gun. It works well, and I found that I need to poke it after doing a few desolderings, and sometimes the solder that is in the chamber can fall through that middle hole, so it helps to dump out the chamber frequently. The temperature isn't exact, and it takes a minute or so to heat up the first time. Overall, it does the job it's designed to do, and I'm able to do 4x the work in the same amount of time thanks to this.

I purchased this unit to do some simple removal of some IC chips and found it to be exceptional. The heat that it creates is perfect for what I needed to de-solder my components. The vacuum worked much better than some reviews have stated and the timing of the heat to the vacuum is easily identified. Simple to use and very helpful on circuits with multiple pins as it removes enough solder to easily pull chip off with ease. I love it and now I am working on fixing many components that failed and I have not yet trashed. Fixing them will seem possible now. A+

Desoldered really well. I'm glad I bought this. All through hole repair will be easy forever now. It even got through the impossible capacitor juice. Sometimes though, it doesn't work too well, not through any fault of its own, but sometimes it do be that way, so here's a 300 IQ pro level tip from ya boi himself; Get some desoldering whick + flux, put it between the desoldering tool and the board, wait for solder to start going into the whick and hit the pump. Instead of the tool doing 100% of the work, it's only doing about half, and the solder gets trapped in the whick with very little in the tool, also keeps the tip squeaky clean. Works every single time.

This unit is not very useful. It doesn't seem to get hot enough and the entire nozzle clogged after just a few uses. Could not remove the solder to get it to work again.
