Just fine! don't expect great grill
I wouldn't have bothered getting anything with a grill, and knew not to expect much from one on a model this size, but I bought this in slight desperation after the little one I'd inherited started shedding enamel, then a replacement similarly sized sharp model lasted less than 20 minutes, and really needed something to reheat frozen meals, and a convenient height grill for simple muffins and crumpets while unable to use all limbs easily. There's a lot to like about this. Firstly, the instruction manual, while only needed to understand the limited combination options, is reasonable quality and fully readable without reading glasses. It's very easy to use, although, I still occasionally cancel what i want to do rather than just hitting the dial to start. Just sometimes I end up going up or down some seconds hitting the dial to start, but that's minor thing. The cheap plastic chrome effect buttons are not all that bad. They work much better than a touch panel. Not sure about complaints about turning dial for longer time-lengths... seems to do it pretty well for me with little effort. Chrome plastic door handle is just passable too, but again, works fine to open and close door.I didn't expect much from the grill option in a unit this size, and if I had space for a toaster as well, then I doubt I'd ever use it, but it does work to toast a muffin or crumpet, albeit not particularly fast doing one side a time.I do wonder if the ring that goes under the turntable was actually for something even smaller... you definitely need to make sure it's in the right place as have had it move out of place then turnable fall off and not turn, but mostly it's OK.There's just a few slight usability issues, but then, some are perhaps for good reason, and make you check you didn't just start it with nothing in, etc., so none that I'm particularly worried about. As a microwave, there is really nothing to complain about. It looks OK. Easy to use. Grill is as good as you'd expect of something in a unit this size. It's pretty much identical size to the one that was shedding it's insides that didn't have a grill, so fits the same gap in the kitchen, looks a little better, plus, has a clock! I'm pretty happy.

Great value for money
More then just a microwave you can proper brown stuff with the added grill, great for doing my cheese and toast and quicker then my traditional oven. Its extremely to use I was able to work it all out without the manual though I did read through it first. Only thing missing is a defrost button for some reason but if you put it on lowest setting I guess its the same thing. What I don't like is a 2 year guarantee if you register your product, why can't they just add it on when you buy it? I did go to their site but kept going round in circles trying to find out how to register it. I gave up in the end as I don't have the time.

Honest review after over a year of owning. AVOID!
The media could not be loaded. Do not buy. Lasted barely 18months but see the video for that. The most irritating feature is the alleged ‘safety’ one where, should you be busy actually getting food ready for said microwave and not press anything or open the door for a few minutes the whole microwave function LOCKS. So you have to close and open the door again to re-ignite its functionality. As someone without children the fact there is no option to disable this w@nk safety feature is beyond annoying. And even if I had kids, microwaves are a table top height at minimum so this means any crawling baby/small toddler will not be able to reach to use it and as we all know any child these days above counter top reaching height is lazy as hell and will rely on parents to do everything for them. Useless annoying feature which needs to be removed or at least able to be disabled. So onto what now seems to be the preemptive stages of death for my microwave. I’m not a heavy user of this device but I do use it probably 3-4 times a week. I mainly use it for reheating meals, frozen veg or baked potatoes. Occasionally I’ll use the grill function. It’s ok. Nothing remarkable. Except tonight after I microwaved my frozen peas. Once they were done (after 1min and 20sec) the microwave threw what I can only describe as a massive paddy. Beeping and racing through the digital display like a Aldi checkout person on crystal meth checking your items at a rate of knots. I turned it off at the plug fearing some kind of electrical explosive finale, so what you see in the video is me recording it after I switched it back on - clearly it was still determined to finish its riotous beepy meltdown. Needless to say I turned it off at the plug again to avoid any kind of home insurance claiming disaster type scenario.Do NOT buy. It’s not great. The alleged safety feature is beyond irritating and the longevity despite mild use is absolute pants.

Russell Hobbs Microwave Grill
Looks very sleek and good quality. Electric lead could be longer but adjusted by adding an extension wire to the socket.

Very good look digital combined microwave .
Preset temperature for differnt kinds of food, rice, beef, fish etc. Guite easy to operate. In stainless steel, look cool.20L for small amount of food, effective cooking. For roasting a small chicken eg 2.8lb could be far too small for it, but it is quite a common dish
