Strange I don't see any awful reviews. it's the best cuff I've owned. Very accurate

does this need a specific rechargeable battery? It looks like 14500 batteries have different voltage ratings

My unit didn't include an users manual. I don't think this model times or dates in it's readings, but knowing for sure would be nice. Does it?

Is it a soft cuff or a stiff pre formed cuff?

If I understand your question, the cuff is soft flexible. The cuff is similar to the cuffs the doctor office use.
