Great machine, would totally recommend.
Bought this to replace and old black and decker and what a difference. This works like a dream and cuts through everything i have thrown at it with ease! There is so little vibration you barely notice as it glides through the work piece. The one handed blade change is also a really great idea and works well in practical situations although I haven’t changed the blade that much so far! One slight negative with this machine is the light that is built in! You have to press and hold a button at the top to keep the light on and having tried this numerous times it can be quite awkward to use and keep a perfect cut as well. After all this is a corded machine so connecting the light to the trigger would have made much more sense! The annoying thing is that when the light is on it works really well and illuminates the area brilliantly. The best advice in this situation is to set the trigger lock to on and that way you can concentrate on pressing the light while steering the machine for an accurate cut!

The best Jigsaw that I have owned or used
No guide supplied I bought the Bosch Professional 2608040289 Parallel Guide here on Amazon and it works great with the bonus of circle cutting:https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0053PWHFI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1The tool really is worth the other 5* reviews. It is very well made - I was impressed with the low vibration and power from the first cut. The pendulum action gives a surprisingly fast cut or turn it down for a very clean cut. In every respect it is better than the DIY standard 90s era Black and Decker that it replaces.Trying to find a negative and all that I can come up with is the box - there is no slot for the guide - that's it!Highly recommended.

Great for quick cuts
I bought this initially to cut 100mm insulation boards and bought the appropriate blade to go with it. However, after the first cut I realized that even with the correct blade this didn't to the job because even though it cut a straight line on the surface of the boards the material was so thick that by the time the blade had come out the other end it had gone through at an angle.so why so many stars? well.a couple of weeks later on a completely different project I gave it a chance to redeem it self and this time it didn't disappoint.it literally cut through 18mm plywood and MDF sheets better than a hot knife through butter.I would advise to use masking tape on decorative material when cutting to prevent rough cuts on finishings surface such as furniture boards.it's highly priced for what it is (hence the 1 start away for the full 5) so I recommend waiting to get one in a deal or alternatively the cheaper options will do just fine for most peoples needs.

Single best tool I have
This has been revolutionary for me, compared to saws I would have used in the past... cutting down a big pile of branches from the garden into firewood is trivial. Reducing the size of wardrobe pieces to take down the dump, trivial. Even faced with a whirlygig clothesline that was left in a degenerated state by the previous owners, I could swap out the saw for a metal one and chop its central pole in half so it can fit in the car.I fitted a catflap in a thick rear door, first removed the door, marked it, drilled a hole to get started and then cutting perfectly 90 degree through an inch of door like it was nothing, right result first time.I did not have any mishaps yet but it's wise to wear leather gloves and eye protection in case the blade snaps.Definitely worth the money.

Light switch faulty.
I' m sure this is an excellent jigsaw, maybe one of the best. Unfortunately I had to return it because the light switch was faulty and I couldn't turn the LED on and off. I bought a makita instead where the LED was on all the time when the jigsaw was in operation. Since I returned the machine straight away, I cannot provide ratings for its features.

A powerhouse
This cuts hardwoods with ease - Korina, Maple, Ash, Sapele Mahogany. Thickness cuts of 12cm with no fuss. Straight cuts and nice finishes. Curve cuts with ease and straight. A good option for guitar building with great cuts. As good as any med priced bahdsaw I have used. All it takes is the right blade and a little practise, letting the saw cut.Well pleased with the results

reasonably powerful tool - has its limits
Bought to replace an old Black & Decker that was very tired after 30 years of use. It's good for cutting across the grain - take care to use robust blades. Cutting with the grain is a bit of a struggle - the guide allows the blade to wander and bend!! so you need to leave a notable safety margin to the cutting line. I tried several Bosch blades when trying to cut a length of Ash wood. Resorted to my hand saw... Rather expensive bit of kit not sure it is worth the money nor justifies the "professional" tag.Original units might have been Swiss made - this is made in Hungary - nevertheless the quality seems good.I tried to register it with Bosch for an extended guarantee - what a pickle - I gave up. Now looking a bit more closely at Festool. I need a new electric planer - the old Bosch unit will no longer set its depth reliably and the blade change is a fiasco - not sure the new Bosch unit is any better from other reviews.
