Cleans your soldering iron
yep.When you can't get solder to stick to your soldering iron and you have tried cleaning it with flux and alcohol and prodding it into one of those copper brillo pad things, DO NOT USE SANDPAPER because while sandpaper will scour the burnt stuff off, your soldering iron tip will literally disintegrate. I am not joking, it will get smaller and smaller until it's a pathetic stump. The Sal Ammoniac is a strong alkali which cleans the hardest stuff off. Rub the dirty solder tip hard on the block while it's hot to clean it.
