The hood not being properly supported is a safety hazard! You need to be able to check you fluid levels without danger that the hood could fall closed! This was a simple and inexpensive fix. We did switch the fittings to the opposite ends of the hydraulic arm since the instructions say that they should be installed in the same orientation as the originals. That was an easy process of unscrewing the fitting from each end and screwing them back onto the opposite ends. Next, the install. It was not difficult, but you do need for someone to support the hood while you do it. There are videos available demonstrating how to change these. So far so good. If they give out too soon, I will be back to revise this positive review.

Most of the reviews I've read for these Camry struts say to install them upside down for a proper fit. The ends of these struts unscrew, so you can switch them around if want to keep the barrel end of the strut on the body of the vehicle and the rod part attached to the hood. You'll need a small flat edge screw-driver to pry the clips out a bit. Be careful not to stab yourself in the hand, or worse, your eye when trying to pry these clips loose. *I recommend wearing gloves and safety glasses.* Once you place the ends on the ball joints of the car, re-engage the clips using the screwdriver. I know the original OEM Toyota struts are around $75 each, so $20 for this pair is a steal. The fit was good and the quality seemed OK. You can really feel the difference when you try to close the hood of your car.

Received the hood lift support in a timely manner. One of the support was easy to install but the other had a clip missing therefore could not be installed. Since one was installed easily it was not removed and could not send for a refund. I had to buy another pair.

Fit perfectly. Just had to reverse the ball joints like the original part. Substantial savings, free shipping with prime, installed in 15 minutes, good deal highly recommend.

I first tried installing them upside like the reviews said, but I actually ended up getting them installed the right way. The hydraulics are pretty stiff, which helps me trust they won’t break, but my wife might not be able to close the hood if she ever needs to open it.
