Great product, I was happy to purchase more when I laminated my bedroom as I knew it worked so well. Good value

Sealant-saver
While studying the instructions to apply window frame sealant I came across the suggestion use these strips as a base. It’s actually brilliant in its simplicity and I’m surprised I didn’t come across this sooner. In particular since our house has huge gaps between the brickwork and the window frames. So, to the missus disgust, all kinds of hairy critters and creatures slip in and are frequently founding feasting around the house. Let alone that there are constant drafts and there is excess moist. So I ordered a couple of rolls of these foam strips and went a long. I must say that I expected a much bigger and sizeable roll of foam strip but it just came bound together in an envelope.Want can I say? - it works well. I’m particularly bad with sealant I never get it applied in a smooth manner without creating an awful and sticky mess. But at least with these foam strips I’m not pouring in endless and excess amounts of sealant. The width of the gaps differs somewhat but I was able to squeeze in the foam with a screwdriver after which the sealing/filling was quite easily done. No large quantities of sealant are required, so the drying process is quite fast.As such it is an effective way of working, and a much more cost efficient manner with respect of sealant or filler used. The result is quite pleasing if not better.I’ve also started to use spare parts of these foam strips for other DIY repair jobs where two part wood filled had to be supported from the inside of a half-rotten wooden door. Again this worked well and it is proving a durable, cost efficient solution. .All in quite pleased, will order more strips.

Works as designed
I used this backer rod for silicone works on a laminate flooring and it works as advertised. It came in a plastic bag packaging and the foam at the end it was quite bent. So, I had to have it rest and stretch a bit before processing so it would not jump back a me when I placed it in the gaps of the floor/walls.

Ideal for narrow crevices
This has been brilliant. Used for a variety of crevices (Garage) and holding well against the weather.

Exactly what I wanted
I was replacing the silicone filler in the expansion joints on the external walls of my house. The gap was approx 8 mm and I found the 10mm backer rod fitted very snuggly into the channel as it was easily compressed to form a tight fit. This left a much smaller void to top up with silicone saving me a lot of time and significantly reducing the amount of silicone I needed.

Perfect for the job
There is a gap between the bathtub and the wall because the wall is uneven. So I bought this so that the silicone sits on it and properly seals the bath. This works ideally and is easy to install, and I have kept a couple of rolls of this to help in the future. It is a good buy!

Expansion gap (Insulation?)
I bought this to fill in the expansion gaps between my house and next door. Our front to back walls were getting cold in winter with a little condensation so after abit of research I decided to use these to fill the expansion gap to stop the cold getting into the gap and then spreading along the front to back walls (theyre not insulated)In warmer weather use a flexible weather proof sealant which will create a semi insulated barrier to stop the cold creeping thru my otherwise warm & cosy house.
