Now Apple HomeKit. Compatible with Matter.
For those who don’t know, Wiz is the lower end product line from the same folks who own Phillips Hue. No hub required, prices reasonably and works both indoors and outdoors. The addition of Matter brings these kits to Apple HomeKit, a type that was sorely lacking in the HomeKit world (the pricey Hue was the only one available).Adding was easy, add to the Wiz app first, update firmware, enable Matter on the device and add to HomeKit. Works like any other light in HomeKit (no adaptive lighting) and the colors are nice with lots of choices and some nifty presets (presets only accessible from the Wiz app).

Easy to install and setup, documentation just needs a little bit of updating
I recently upgraded to this outdoor smart light, and it's a significant improvement over the previous light that was 12+ years old. The wiring was straightforward, and pairing with the app was quick, taking only a couple of minutes. While the installation instructions included helpful pictures, they lacked any accompanying text. Written instructions alongside the visuals would be beneficial. Additionally, more detailed information about app pairing would be useful, as it's only briefly mentioned on the box and not in the instructions. It would also be helpful to specify the optimal Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz), as many smart devices perform better on 2.4 GHz. I've paired many smart devices previously so I'm aware of this but omitting this could lead to unnecessary complaints related to network compatibility. Addressing these documentation gaps would easily elevate this to a 5-star product.

We Love This Porch Light!
We just had our siding replaced, and were looking for some new lights for the outside of the house. When we saw this light from Wiz, we knew it was perfect for our front porch!Installation was a breeze with the included hardware, and once turned on, it connected to the app with no trouble at all. The basic settings are super simple to understand, and we've set ours to a low, warm white light for evenings. I love the fact that I can set this to sunset to sunrise, auto adjusting for the time throughout the year! There are various holiday settings, which will be super fun at Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day etc! The Matter integration is also a huge plus, we've recently added a ton of Matter devices to our home.A well made, solid light, that's very easy to setup and use.

What color to choose?
I recently swapped out my old porch lantern for the WiZ Smart Outdoor Wall Light Classic, and right off the bat I was impressed by how straightforward the install was—no hub, just hardwired in place of my previous light, and I was up and running within ten minutes. The WiZ app guided me through the Bluetooth commissioning and onto my home Wi-Fi, and before I knew it I was experimenting with a full 16-million-color palette alongside crisp tunable whites (2700–6500 K) that flood my entryway with 950 lumens of brightness. I set up custom scenes like “Sunrise Welcome” for mornings and “Campfire Glow” for evening BBQs, and linking it to Alexa meant I could tell it to “set the porch to ocean blue” right from my couch.Over the past few weeks, it’s held up beautifully against spring rain and overnight temperature dips, thanks to its die-cast aluminum housing and IP44 rating. I love that I can automate it to switch on at dusk and off at dawn—or tweak the schedule when I’m away on vacation—for added security without any extra hardware. The dynamic modes (Forest, Party, Relax) are fun for get togethers. At about $75, it’s pricier than a basic outdoor fixture, but the combination of vibrant color control, reliable weatherproofing, and seamless voice integration makes it feel worth every penny.

Looks good in the end, but getting there is a challenge
Overall, this is not a bad product. When installed, it's very bright and looks awesome. It's not too hard to install but it also requires additional materials--you will need outdoor caulk/sealant and wire nuts (the ones included are wayyyy too small for 120v electrical wire). This doesn't seem to be noted anywhere. Beyond that, it isn't complicated to physically install. My first problem: connecting it to your network is a chore. You need very specific wifi conditions for this thing to work, and those are not specified anywhere. If you want to use it with the WiZ app and Alexa, you will need to set it up in the app first, then on Alexa through Matter--this process is ALSO not detailed in a straightforward way.My other problem: my unit very obviously arrived with the bags torn open and one of the screws on the actual luminaire itself has been removed and replaced. So the condition was not the quality I expect of a new product.
