Kefir grains
I was kind of iffy about ordering kefir grains via amazon but these came in excellent condition. They were in a container and vac sealed to prevent any leaking. They were the size expected bc larger kefir grains don't necessarily mean anything. I received a good teaspoon amount which is great bc they multiple like crazy. It only took a few days of feeding to start to get a good flavor going considering they had a long travel time. It took about 5 days or so to get them and then I feed them immediately. The instructions were easy to read and navigate. My kefir grains are going strong and getting better flavor every single day. I use kefir in all sorts of things from drinking to sourdough kefir pancakes. I am so extremely excited. This is a great company to get kefir grains from if you are looking to start your kefir journey. I would recommend doing a second fermentation after straining the grains. I just attach the lid but not to tight bc it does build up gases during this time. I just let it sit on the counter for a few hours before releasing pressure and putting in the fridge. To me it adds a bit of a bubbly feel to the kefir. It's great. Definitely a 5 star.

Great product!
I received my Starter kit 3 days ago. I read the directions that came with it, watched the video that you can access form a link that’s available on the printed directions and started my first batch. Initially, I thought that the amount was kind of skimpy, but I just did as directed. I noticed by the second “feeding” that surprisingly, the grains had already grown in size. And by the third day I actually had a batch of Kefir that was pretty much good to use! It was that simple! I was also again surprised by how much they had grown since I initially received them! I did warm up my milk to 75-77 degrees and could have probably let the third batch ferment a little longer, but I was too excited. If you want to try making your own kefir vs buying that stuff they sell in stores, I highly recommend this!

They disappeared!
After following the instructions and using the finest non-metal mesh strainer I could get on Amazon, all my Kefir grains simply disappeared. Not that there would have been many to start with, probably less than half a teaspoon when they arrived. For 3 weeks I was 100% sure that I am doing something wrong, and that with enough patience they would start growing. I mean, the milk thickened and even started to get some sour, tangy flavor, but nothing compared to the Kefir I buy in the store. So after I couldn't find any grains in my strainer anymore I bought some dehydrated grains, and they are not even completely "activated" yet and are already thickening 2 cups of milk in less than 24 hours, and they are growing like nuts.Maybe having live Kefir grains shipped when it's 110 degrees outside is not a good idea. And shipping just a tiny amount is probably not making it better. Anyway won't buy live grains online anymore.

This is a great product!
I ordered this and got to work right away. It colonized a cup of room temp whole milk in 24 hours, then another one. I tossed those as suggested, then made a pint with room temp grass-fed whole milk. In about 18 hours the milk had basically turned into a yogurt consistency! I am using the cheese cloth bag, as all you have to do is pull it out and wash the bag with the grains inside with a little fresh milk, squeeze out the excess and you are ready for a new batch. It couldn't be easier! The grains are also already multiplying like crazy! Probably twice what was shipped at this point. So I am planning a pint a day for my wife and I.

Good instructions, fast delivery
Pretty good! After 1 week I was able to make 1 gallon of kefir.

A very small amount
A tablespoon was promised, and I suppose it is a tablespoon if you count the "milk juice" that is mixed in with the grains. I paid over $18 for a very small amount of kefir grains, but, hopefully it will grow larger as time goes on.

Waste of money and time
I unfortunately did not read the reviews before buying the kefir I’ve been making kefir her for about five years, so I’m very familiar with it. I went on a long trip and dehydrated my grains, I couldn’t get them to revive so I bought these, and like everyone else was pretty unimpressed with the minuscule amount of grains, probably a teaspoon or less. The grains I had before were very big and juicy and these were little dots. It’s been over a month of my having them pretty much in intensive care, and they still haven’t produced anything but a bit of a sour milk. Getting kefir grains to grow is not hard and the seller should have a supply of large active grains not these microscopic ones. Very disappointed
