I generally like to stay away from books with super dark themes. I feel like I get enough of that in real life, given the state of the world, so I tend to opt toward lighter reads. When I saw this series, I was intrigued, but very wary, given the topic. Still, I gave it a try. By God, I was sucked in so fast. The characters are wonderfully fleshed out and the plot is relevant and fast-paced.Parts of it were emotionally tolling, but not to any degree that I felt unable to keep reading. I don't think i could've stopped if I tried, actually. I only ever buy books if I intend to read them again (saves space my tiny bookshelf), and this series is needed to own. If you're in a mental space to handle the darker aspects, then I highly recommend.

Amazing set of books must read for everyone

Good quality boxed set. The books are great. Still haven't gotten to the 3rd one but the 1st two books are real page turners. It's a little like a remake of the Hunger Games series with a male protagonist. There's not a bunch of salacious sexual content so you can focus on the story and the character arcs. Good twists and turns. Pretty solid read for any sci fi fan.

If you're looking for a sci-fi adventure that's similar to Hunger Games, this is for you!

One of the best series I have ever read!

I love this series. The tale of Darrow is a fun one for anyone who loves dystopian fiction, with a futuristic twist. I’ve actually purchased this series twice because I keep sharing them out and people love them too much to return the book. I would highly recommend.

My daughter was excited to receive this from me and is all set for hours of reading!
