Q: how do you pick the correct size to order?

That is a great question! The Answer is not quite as easy as picking clothing sizes, because each manufacturer uses their own sizing methods, even for one type product to another. the sizing for this product is determined this way:1) measure both the waist and the hips. choose the larger of the two measurements (if the waist is 28" and the hips 36", use the 36" measurement).2) 20-30" would be small 30-42" would be medium and 40-55' would be large (for this product S3, M3 and L3) If you are close to the cutoff for the next larger size, go larger!3) in the example in #1 the size would be M3 I hope this helps.

Q: Are these better than Tena Overnights?

I have never tried Tena Overnights, but these are the best I have tried for my MIL. They are far superior to the depends brand. On the occasions where she sleeps through the night uninterrupted, these survive without any leaking! She has been known to sometimes sleep from 9pm-11am if she's really, really tired and we haven't had any problems. That being said... she is only urinary incontinent so I'm not 100% sure about someone who is fully incontinent. The only times these have ever leaked has been at night when she has pulled them back on a completely crooked after a trip to the restroom. I know that was the cause of the mess bc the underwear were hardly wet on those occasions and she managed to make a puddle on the floor despite having them on. These are expensive, but I feel they are definitely worth the money! We use them day and night and I never have to worry about an accident when we are out and about all day. I tested a pair when we first started using them and I was able to pour a quart of water into a pair with NO leaking. I wasn't just dribbling it in... I poured fast enough to simulate a full on "accident" bc I wanted to know if we could really depend on them for complete protection! Hope this helps.
