I was amazed how well this worked keeping our dogs away from the area that the cats food and litter box was. We are able to leave the door open for the cat to have access to her food and litter box but the dogs can't fit thru the door opening. I would definitely buy this again if needed and would recommend to anyone that needs to keep their pets from entering an area with an open door. It is adjustable for opening size. I love it!

These are a game change in my house where I have both cats and dogs. Husband was able to install within 5 minutes and can still fully shut the door as needed. I can keep my dogs out of the litter room while letting my cats enter as they please. I even have a small, 10-lb dog I was worried about, and she can't get in. Toddler couldn't get in the room either, which was a bonus. I wouldn't recommend if you have an obese cat. One of mine is about 5-lbs overweight and struggles to squeeze through even at the loosest fit. I hope the company will consider creating another notch to allow even more room with the extender.

I've been using these for only a week but WOW, what a game changer! My dog wouldn't stop eating from the litter pan and kept getting sick. Looking forward to no more vet bills for this reason. Super easy to install and use. The cats love having their personal space as well. Great idea and product!

I’ve had this about a year now and I really wanted to love it but I can’t. I do like it though!Pros: it does what it’s supposed to do, keeps the door propped but keeps my toddler out. I have tiny dogs and needed somewhere to put their food and water without worrying about my toddler messing with it. They both easily fit through and I never worry about my child bothering them in there.Cons: when closing the door there are times it slides over making the opening of the door smaller which then makes it too small for my bigger dog to fit through. Sometimes she’s in there when I close It and then poor girl ends up Stuck in because she can’t get out. I’d understand if I was Acting like hulk when closing the door but I’m really just using normal human strength. Within the first month of having it a piece cracked on it which wasn’t great but it was still usable.Overall it is a good product and it does what it’s meant to do. Maybe just don’t get it for high traffic doors

We love this version of the door buddy. We previously used the adjustable strap version for years, and it definitely served its purpose, but was somewhat inconvenient to secure every time you opened the door. With this version, there are no extra steps and all you have to do is open/close the door as you normally would. It fit perfectly in our existing striker plate notch, and lines up well with the doorknob. But, most importantly, it allows our cats to go in and out of the room while keeping the dogs out. This is a must have for anyone who needs to separate off a room for litter box or food for there cats.

The fit and durability are both good. We have a dog that nudges her way into a room that we have cat food. This works very well, with one caveat: you MUST tighten the set screws down VERY tight. Do not worry about breaking the latch - It is very well made. The first time i used the latch I was worried about over tightening and didn't put as much muscle into tightening the screws. Our dog was able to push the door open wider. Since i've tightened the screws we've had no problem.

Had to create extra holes in my frame because unfortunately it didn't fit. It kind of made it seem like a one size fits all type of situation but the frame around my door is too thick so unfortunately we had to do a little DIY. It does what it is meant to do though. Had a huge issue with one of our dogs going into the room with our cat food and the bin full of dog food. He would eat all the cats food and then help himself to the dog food bin as well. Now he thankfully can't get in!!

Works exactly as described. Easy to install. Easy to remove. What a great simple, inexpensive, and effective solution to making sure the doorway stays ajar yet easy to open. Highly recommend!
