Does the job, but can be hard to clean and watch out for sharp metal edges
Does the job decently, but hard to clean. Also inside metal of the handle has some sharper edges so be careful not to cut or scratch yourself while cleaning.

Watch your hand when using! The nutcracker is hazardous.
The nutcracker is useful for walnuts. One needs to insert the walnut twice to open The nut. Now as for the other types of nuts.... WATCH OUT .... when I inserted the smaller nuts, my palm go Pinched. It was so painful. The nutcracker is total metal. I thought, my palm had a cut. I Hesitated to look at my Palm. the metal is not thick and not deep enough to handle smaller nuts.

It works!
Received this today, it took a month to get here, but we still had some chestnuts in the refrigerator to use this on. If you use it correctly, following the how to use pictures on the box it came in, it makes effortless crosscuts on the chestnut, so that they are ready to roast on your fire without exploding! One side of the handle has grooves where your fingers go. The chestnuts we pierced today were smaller ones, but the cutter still did the job, the idea being to cut through the shell to avoid them bursting open while cooking. A handy gadget if you love chestnuts but don’t want to use a knife to score them, risking injury.

Not to sturdy
This feels like its not that sturdy but it did the job. Even on the flat chestnuts. Don't know how long it will last, but basically use it only when chestnuts are on season so think it will last few years
