Premium quality IPL. Ice clling. High power 60W
You can find a huge number of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair removal devices on Amazon. Options started as a trickle, then came a deluge of different models, colors, and shapes. But the secret is that almost all of these are the same inside and are made in a handful of factories. With a few notable exceptions, the features are the same, the controls are the same, etc. So mostly, it comes down to a few, limited, differentiating factors:** Does the IPL offer "ICE" active cooling** Does the IPL offer additional filters/modes for different effects** Does the IPL offer unusual and useful ergonomic features** What kind of power does the IPL use (higher power should translate into better performance). Power levels are typically in the range of 18W-60W. Higher is better. This is a relatively expensive IPL unit that offers a few modes, good contruction and higher-than-normal power to the mix.Specifics of this IPL device:** Oblong IPL device performs hair removal and adds body part modes** IPL device offers eight power levels and separate function modes for finger, face, arm, armpit, bikini, leg, upper body.** Ice cooling.** Maximum number of flashes not indicated, but rated for "lifetime" useUsing split second photography, I was able to capture a snapshot of the light (see photos). But the light duration is extremely short. You run the tool over the area where you want to remove hair and make sure you expose all the hair follicles in that region. You will not see any immediate results. The light signals your hair to stop growing, but it requires multiple treatments over several weeks before you will be expected to see results. Eventually, you should find a substantial reduction in the hair in the treated areas. In the box, you get** IPL Tool** Power supply (60W, which is good)** Cheap sunglasses** Cheap shaver** InstructionsAs is typical for these kits, little information is provided on the specifics of what exactly is done by the various modes. Suffice to say that you can probably use any mode for any body part, but the modes for sensitive areas probably reduce the intensity.Ice functionality is another term for "Local epidermal cooling," and is rarely described in sufficient detail in listings, so I'll fill you in here. This is local cooling of the epidermal region (surface skin) in the region where the IPL light pulse is being applied. The high-powered light can be irritating to some people, and cooling the skin in that region can reduce the immediate irritation. (It does not improve/decrease efficacy of the treatment). This cooling effect is achieved via a Peltier junction semiconductor and a good thermoconducting material at the head of the IPL device (frequently sapphire or aluminum) that transmits the cold that the semiconductor generates to the skin. (A heatsink and fan inside the IPL device remove the heat that the Peltier junction also produces).Epidermal cooling is not required for efficient use, but it may make it less unpleasant to use the device for some users. This IPL device is considerably more expensive than some of the cheapest IPL devices on Amazon, but it does add ICE cooling and the body part modes. In addition, this device is powered by 60W, which is at the high end of power for these home IPL devices. This may result in better performance. It also feels better constructed than some of these. On the downside, I did not find this as comfortable to hold as some other IPL devices I've tested. It's short but a bit chubbier than I'd prefer.Summary:Pros:** High wattage power supply (60W)** Includes ICE cooling** Feels well constructed** Includes mode selection** Nice presentation box, suitable for gift-givingCons:** Relatively expensive.** No additional focusing heads** A bit chubby. May feel too large in smaller hands

high price
First of all, it has a certain weight, and the power adapter is also large and heavy. It has no battery, so it must be connected to a power source to work, which makes it very heavy. There is also a lot of noise when working. The body is also difficult to hold and there are no operating instructions so I have no idea how to operate it. How many levels are needed to go from level 1 to level 8? How long does each use take? What's the use of the flash button next to it?Also, it takes several months of use to see the effects, so it’s impossible to say whether it’s effective. If hair stops growing after three months, will it stop growing again? Or should I continue using it to control hair growth?Advantages: Goggles are provided because the flash effect is too dazzling.

Really like the cooling feature
This device makes at home hair removal so easy and quick not to mention the privacy you gain being able to do it yourself in your own home. What I like about this AMIRO Opal IPL Hair Removal Device is the easy-to-use screen that allows you to select the different treatment areas as well as selecting the way you want to treat them. It's really nice to have the option to click the button for a one-time light application or have a continuous gliding treatment option which makes doing areas like my legs much easier. Per the instructions, I'm only able to use this device once a week for a treatment session so it is a slow process but says we should see results after 12 weeks of use. I've worked up to using the device at 50% of its full power and so far, have not experienced any discomfort or pain from treatment. The device has this fantastic cooling ability when you are using it that keeps the skin feeling cold and comfortable through the application. You can hear the fan running while using it but it's not really very loud overall. I've used other similar devices that show me how many flashes are left but this one does not do that. It does say it's a lifetime device so I would imagine it will last a long time, but the bulb life is not visible on this one. While my feelings about this device are mostly positive, I'll say something I don't like is the plug for this thing. The power cord had a heavy power block attached to it and it's easy to accidentally pull it off the counter. I'm sure it's needed for proper power but it's bulky and awkward and I'm not a huge fan of that. The unit itself it awkward to hold because there's no real hand grip area and the button to push the light is on the top side where you would naturally want to wrap your hand around. It takes a little more conscious effort to find a comfortable hand position to use it, but the lock feature is nice, so you don't accidentally change the treatment area when you are gripping it while you are trying to do a treatment session. The glasses fold up compactly which is cool for storage, but they could stand to cover more eye area to block out the light and I think they should be darker. This light is bright, and I close my eyes when I push the button but can still see it through my closed eyes plus the glasses. Still, it sure beats having to take time to be at hair removal appointments in an office somewhere with a total stranger.
