Wolf Warrior II [DVD]

I enjoyed every minute of the movie

I watched this because it usurped The Passion of Christ from its top place in 2017.It is a fun action gung ho movie where the Chinese rescue against the odds and with martial arts and aplomb, their own and African citizens that other countries have deserted as rival groups fight for control. It has more a Hollywood influence feel in my view rather than a Chinese, ( the martial arts of Chinese series are fantas(y)tic ).

I enjoyed all three of these movies, it has a few issues but it was definitely worth watching

I read a quote by the president of China when questioned about China's trade relations with Africa; he expressed that the difference between China and the Western world is that China does not tell others (unlike the West) to be like them, but to strive to be successful by being themselves - so having watched this film, it is somewhat ironic, given that Wolf Warrior seeks only to imitate Western hollywood ideology in this film. I have no issue with wanting to present a view of China helping African nations and trying to build mutually beneficial positive relations between the two, but why then produce a film which mimics the West's "Saviour/hero Complex". It's not the propaganda aspects of this film that bothered me, just simply, China should produce films which shows why they are different from the West, not that they too can be rambos saving so-called blighted Africa... In short, this film was more an admiration of the West, as they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Come on China... be yourself also in your films.

Action packed from start to finish great fight scenes

Great action and the time flies by.

Very good action movie with stunts from the team who created John Wick and Captain America. This is considerably better than the first Wolf Warrior and is the highest grossing movie in Chinese cinema.Unfortunately Amazon are selling this as having an English soundtrack/English dub, but it hasn't got either. Both soundtracks are Mandarin Chinese, and subtitles are English. This disc has the same issue as the first Wolf Warrior, i.e you need to select English subtitles to understand the movie, but there are scenes in both movies that are in English, and you get subtitles for those as well. Rather irritating, but you get used to it.Pity Amazon cant get their product descriptions right, but then they still haven't been able to stop grouping similar products together on the same review page. The very least they should do with foreign films is provide photos of the rear cover so that customers can read the specs of the disc for themselves. About time they got this right!
