Hi Yes you can print double sided manually & yes you can set up without a cd no problem

Q: can it print on photo paper?

Yes it can although printing photos is not really what it was designed to be best at. The printing is very good for a small inkjet.

Q: Does this item photocopy?

No but it can scan to your computer so you can print the copy. It has excellent resolution

Q: Can you print from apple ios?

Not that I know of as you cannot print from Bluetooth and there is no RJ45 on this printer. I tried once using the HP app but it didn’t work.
