Simple in a good way.
This comes with 2xAA batteries and instructions. The unit is ergonomic and well made. The batteries are easy to fit via a flap at the bottom.I've had other thermometers which have had a lot more 'features' such as being able to set the surface type individually and turning off the laser. After a while of use you realise you only need the basics and this is what this unit delivers. The unit is stripped right back to the minimum you need. It has a trigger, an on/off switch and mode button. The trigger lights the laser and takes the reading and the mode button is used for 3 predefined surface types. You can also long press the mode button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.I'm mainly going to use this for testing the temperature of my pizza oven which the upper temperature limit is suitable for.As far as I can test this it seems accurate. This is well made, simple to use and functional. The price is around twice what I paid for my last thermometer but that started to give bad readings after around a year so if this lasts it will be worth the money.

Another quality product from Bosch
Bosch is a prestigious and reliable brand I have favoured for many years; all our kitchen appliances are Bosch/Siemens as are some of my gardening machinery and DIY tools. When I was offered this infrared thermometer to review, I jumped at the chance. This thermometer is compact, light, and very easy to use. Simply turn it on, choose one of the three modes, then point at the surface to be measured and press and release the measuring button. The optimum measuring distance for surface temperatures between -10C and +500C degrees is between 0.75m and 1.25m. It’s full measuring range is -30°C to +500°C. A red beam dot can be seen on the target surface. Continuous measurement can be achieved by holding down the measuring button as you scan across a surface. This can be useful, for instance, when scanning a wall or window frame for temperature variations that may indicate where heat is being lost. The three modes of emissivity (see pic) ensure that the reading is accurate. In simpler terms, emissivity tells us how well a surface can radiate heat.Regarding accuracy, I have tested in a fridge, freezer, and a heated oven, and the results were as expected. It uses 2xAA batteries, which are included.

Top quality Infrared Thermometer
The media could not be loaded. The Bosch Infrared Thermometer is incredibly easy to use and very precise, making it a great tool for a variety of applications. It measures temperatures ranging from -30°C to +500°C with a simple point-and-shoot operation (from 0.75 to 1.25m distance). Just pull the trigger, aim the red dot at the target, and get an instant reading. If you hold the switch it will give you a continuous reading. The screen is large and the results are clear and easy to read.It features three pre-programmed modes tailored for different surface types, as detailed in the manual. It is powered with double AA battery that are included in the box.I use it mainly in the kitchen, whether for checking oven temperature, monitoring melted chocolate, or even ensuring a pizza oven is at the right heat. Beyond cooking, it’s also handy for detecting cold drafts in the home. Also very useful if you have an exotic animal such as lizard, snakes, … to make sure they also have the right temperature to stay healthy. As expected from Bosch, the build quality is excellent, making this a reliable and durable tool for both home and professional use.

Easy to use and must have for me
The media could not be loaded. It offers a wide range making it useful for various applications like checking home insulation, cooking, or car maintenance. The 3 predefined material settings improve accuracy, and the device feels sturdy and well-built. The display is clear, and operation is straightforward, though readings may vary slightly depending on the surface type. It comes in a simple cardboard box, but for the price, it’s a great, precise, and versatile thermometer for home or professional use.
