It makes the phone a lot bigger - and when I see people with slim cases on their iphone I do sometimes look enviously at them. But then I drop my phone or see somebody drop their phone, and I remember why I love this case so much.This is the best case I've owned, particularly if you want genuine protection and don't mind your phone looking less cool

You want protection? This baby gives you protection!!!! It feels reassuringly bulky in the hands, but not unpleasant. Having used a different seemingly rugged case before, but the protection ultimately failing, I'm hoping that this case will do better - especially once I have replaced my smashed screen.It would be preferred if the holster clip was removable, so that it's more pocket and handbag friendly, but maybe I'll actually use it and it'll drop less! I'm sure there is a way of doing so, but you will probably void the warrantee if you do.The screen is further protected when clipped in the holster portion (very securely!) as it is designed to cover the screen. It won't fit or even clip with the screen pointing out. Some people may not like this, but for me it's ideal.A further note about the clear screen protector - does reduce the sensitivity of the screen little so that you need to use slightly firmer touchess. However I have quickly adapted and am using Swype with no issues (in fact swype is probably going to be more accurate than press-per-letter, as occasionally a letter doesnt register, whilst you're adjusting anyway).I am actually very happy about the very slightly reduced screen sentitivity, as it shows how the extra screen protection works; The clear screen cover will give a more-than-standard protection for those butter-side-down fears, and there is space for aa 3rd party stick-on-protector too. The one provided sits on the surface so there is a slight air-gap between the protection and the screen. Think of it like a thin crumple-zone or air-bag on a car. A clever idea and well implemented (no more dust bubbles!). It is held in place by the rest of the case. The only other downside is youll occasionally need to remove the phone from the case to clean out any dust. This is especially due to the single rectanglular cut-out at the top for the earpiece, front camera and sensor. The means it doesn't interfere with those functions and the rounded-rectangular shape is less likely to break and crack itself though.Since the air-gap between the clear plastic and the screen would be reduced by installing a second screen protector, I wonder if this "crumple-zone effect" would be affected, or if the extra screen protection would add to shock protection overall? If I remember I'll pop back in a few months and let you know how I get on.

Came with a silicone case, a solid case that went over the top and a clip on case with a stand attached. Unfortunately the phone broke by other means but it was dropped and knocked off surfaces a few times (my partner is a bit careless when it comes to his phones!) but I’m planning on repairing it because this is the only thing that’s kept it in one piece!

This case is very good!!! It can be great if the plastic sides were a bit grippy as it tends to be slippy in the hand a tiny bit. But that's just a minor thing!!!Build quality is great the inner tough rubber is thick probably 3mm and the outer plastic/rubber is also durable it seems.This case will definitely protect your Samsung s5 but don't abuse a product or device. Then your looking for things to break!!!It fits on snuggly and feels sturdy and tough!!! Once you go ballistic you can't go back. I have lost phones with this case on, and been more upset about the case than the phone. I have had it on Samsung S4s and an S5, including a Samsung Tablet.I have dropped my phone from various heights, on various surfaces, at different orientations and the phone has been fine on each occasion. I have dropped it flat on its face on a hard marble floor, it made a hell of a noise, and I was sure the screen would be cracked, but nope.I have even smashed my phone on its corner, on the edge of a table in anger; it was so hard, the phone flew out of my hand, and I instantly regretted it. However, good old Ballistic saved my phone and my blushes; I highly recommend this product to all friends and family, and our household is now completely Ballistic!6 Stars out of 5!!

I was initially impressed with this. It is solid and looks like it will protect the phone... But I've just noticed it is not going to protect it from water, dust, grit etc. There is a large space on the hole for camera. I would have expected a rubber seal here. Same issue at speaker. This means I would be concerned with sand damage at the beach, even without the waterproof element. Too bad as would have been 5 stars without this serious flaw.

I recently received my Balistic explorer case, first impressions out of the box are it seems to be quite well made, the fitment on the phone is good without being too tight, drop protection looks good but the screen protector is rubbish, it has lines on from the manufacturing process and offers exceptionally poor clarity the screen isn't exactly responsive around the extremities of the screen., shame really as this ruins the product for me!!

Seems like a great case but got the wrong one. I need a LG Nexus 5X shock proof case so my 2 year old can't break another phone, this case is a 5 so this won't fit. I'd return it but it's too much of a hassle trying to get to a post office with 2 babies.
