Sharp and versatile. Great price
For the price you just can’t beat it. Extremely sharp and very flexible to filleting fish. Really comfortable holding. I know looks aren’t everything but they sure did well on this knife. Has another edge at the top if you look closely. Would recommend to any person!

You get what you're paying for
Firstly, I'm familiar with the origination of this design and understand its function. The originals are no longer made so when finding this, I was surprised. Initial impression of the knife was impressive. The scabbard not as much but, it is functional. The blade flexibility, shape, and edge retention are satisfactory. The tip isn't fully sharpened on all segments but it can be with stone work. The spine is sharp to about the same as the original. Why the one star dock? After a couple months (used to only skin fillets to date) the handle has loosened and moves easily by say... .040". Enough to notice each time it's put to work. Someday, it will benefit from having a new handle installed as I'd say the blade is worth it.

Really functional tool
Sharp blade with great balance and flex. Note that this knife does not end in a sharply pointed tip. While some like this, I use the tip to dig at bones and clear the fillet of unwanted inclusions and have been known to break the fragile point of such blades. This knife has a heavier stub at the tip that works really well for these little removals without risking damage to the tip itself. The blade also is beveled so that it can be worked with both forward and reverse strokes when needed to finish the filleting process. All-in-all, a surprisingly functional knife at a very good price. Only time will tell how well it holds its edge, but it has survived the first couple of uses with flying colors.
