I think all cat owners can confirm that cats live to be served and Princess is no exception either. Regardless what I'm doing, she will meow order me to attend her needs, including making sure that her litter box is constantly scooped free of lumps because she doesn't like finding other marshmallows in her litter.Needless to say this self-cleaning litter box is more for me than it is for the cat, with the aim of freeing up some time for myself.I've researched and found out that in order to make the cat use the new litter box, I had to leave the old one next to it but being Princess she also had to begged and had me bow a few times.The litter box has a rake which rakes the litter automatically from the back to the front and all the lumps are pushed in the waste bin at the front which is super easy to remove by just pulling it out. There are bags provided for the waste bin and when it's time to empty, I can simply remove the bag. Overall the litter box is easy to dismantle for cleaning, which needs to be done every now and then, especially because the cat steps on the waste bin cover which tells the sensors inside the box that the cat is in and out which in turn activates the countdown for the raking to start.The box is quite big and the cat has plenty of room to spin around until it gets comfortable to do its business.The rake will do a full forward and back motion with each activation and during this time, it will level out the litter as well, although not perfectly.This litter box works well and has saved me the headache of constant scooping.

I’ve had this for 2 months as the cleaning rail has stopped functioning. It keeps on getting stuck and no longer cleans as designed. Avoid and get a better quality product.

I have to say i was worried when the box came as it was huge then when i opened it i saw that the box was huge to contain the huge litter tray. You really do have to have the space for this litter tray as it takes up a lot of valuable floor space.I am going to assume that this litter tray is aimed at a multi cat household as i think it's too much just for one cat.The litter tray uses clumping litter but the tray in which to put the litter is very shallow, much shallower than an ordinary litter tray. We set up the litter tray and had it alongside the old tray to get the cats used to it, we even tipped water onto the litter to get it to clump and activated the cleaning cycle. The cats hated it, the high sides that they have to jump over to get in and the noise were just too much.I have a neighbour who has cats so i cleaned it out and gave it to her for a week to try and would you believe it her 3 cats used it from day one.I think the success of the litter tray will come down to the cat or cats that are using it but it's a lot of money wasted if the cats won't use it.

Cats will use however the poo gets stook in the grill is quite loud and hard to add a liner to the bin gets stook

The length of the unit is 28 inches so just over 2 feet long and the height is 10 inches.The inside cat litter compartment measures 14 inches x 18 inches.All pieces of the unit easily come apart for washing and fit back together again as simply with no effort.Clumping cat litter is a must for this model and the quick absorbency ones work much more efficiently because they form the lumps quicker. I found the larger grained litter particles worked much better than the smaller grained ones as they didn't fall apart when being dragged across the tray.There is a minimum and maximum level for the litter to be filled so the rake can plough through properly, this has a line and arrow on the sides of the unit so easily noticed.The machine has a metal grill which rides through the cat letter and forces the solids and litter clumps forward at a slow speed and then tips them over the edge into the collection tray drawer. This metal grill also goes backwards to its stating position and this levels out the litter again for the next use.I have cat who is a dirty scamp and refuses to use the litter tray if he already has a deposit in there which is very inconvenient and upsetting when we are out at work all day. I do have sympathy with the cat though as i wouldn't like to use a dirty toilet either.This tray has changed the habit of that and all i do now is put a bag over the pull out draw and replace as need but at my leisure. I no longer arrive home and have to clean any mess as soon as I walk through the door. My cat is a 5 year old and adjusted his toilet habits quickly to using the tray completely and for reference he weighs 4.5kg.

Not very good, it is very noisy anddoesn't remove everything thoroughly. Every few days you have to manually clean the sand. Compared to a round capsule type litter box it is very poor. I have both, I bought these as the second one because I wanted the cats to have a choice between an open and closed litter box, now I would decide on two closed ones. To sum up, this litter box works but unsatisfactorily, it is very loud and the cleaning process takes quite a long time.

I was shocked at how large this is compared with the previous pet safe automatic crystal version. I didn't find it very aesthetically pleasing it looks cheap. It's much noisier than the last version and takes quite a long time to clear away the cat poo etc. I am glad I have sent it back and I'm hoping to get a refund but a lot of hassle. Not of the same quality of the previous automatic cat litter box.
