Although I have heard about the Philosophy brand for years, this is the first time that I have tried a Philosophy product. I am very pleased with this cream. The scent is very relaxing as I apply it to my face and neck. It is thick and creamy, but absorbs well into my skin, plumping it up and moisturizing it. I usually use it at night or even during the day if I'm not wearing makeup. Although it may seem expensive, it is full of fine, non-irritating ingredients, and a little goes a long way. So this two ounce container will last for several months.

This is my second retinol cream I've ever had, and I find that this one sinks into the skin pretty easily compared to the first one I had, and feels pretty light on the skin. The cream's texture makes it satisfying to put on and the subtle but pleasant floral scent makes me look forward to putting it on every night.Being that this product does have fragrance and retinol (an active ingredient), make sure to do a small skin patch test first before applying it to the rest of your skin. First few weeks of any retinol product is going to result in some skin purging, so make sure you layer on top a hydrating cream or try to use a pea size amount at first.

I love Philosophy products and use their face wash daily. I also use about 4 times a week a prescription retinol. I stopped using my RX to test this. Obviously a prescription has a higher percentage of active ingredients. And no where in the package does it say what the percentage is for this Philosophy product. Since this is not as strong, I noticed a bit more acne than I normally have with my Rx. Overall, I would not reorder.

This jar of face and neck cream comes in a sleek little box, and pulling it out the jar has a very solid and expensive weight to it. The instructions are printed on the jar itself which I always appreciate since I don't save the packaging. Unscrewing the lid, it has a protective plastic seal cap underneath that you pull off. The jar was nice and full, no skimping on the size, and the quantity should last a couple months, but it is certainly pricey. The lotion itself has a very very faint light and pleasing scent to it, not at all overpowering. It is thick and creamy and rubs in well without leaving an oily feel, though the lotion isn't what I would call light. It has a bit of a weight to it, but to me it feels like it is working well and deeply into my skin. You can put it on either day or night (or both), and it almost instantly settled my sun-irritated skin. I had no irritation or burning, even briefly, when applying.

This jar of face & neck cream seems to hit all the marks needed for an excellent addition to any skin care routine. Retinol is the standard in anti-aging. Pro-collagen and pro-elastin peptides enhance skin firmness and elasticity. Ceramides help lock in moisture and protect against environmental damage. That is everything I would look for, and more. After using over the last week, I'm certain my skin is tighter and losing some of its wrinkles. It is clearly retaining more moisture and feels much less dry than normal for this time of year. I'm looking forward to continuing use and avoiding the dreaded dryness of winter. Based on my first week, I'm convinced my skin is looking and feeling younger. Makes me feel great.
