Reliable, classy, and built to last.
I bought two of these, with the first one dating back to 2018. It’s still in great shape, which really speaks to the quality. I only bought a second one because my wife took mine, so clearly it’s well liked. It’s compact enough to keep in the office or car, but still opens wide enough to provide full coverage. I’m a big guy and it works well for me. The wood handle also gives it a classy, more refined look compared to most compact umbrellas.Living in South Florida, I rely on this during the rainy season, which lasts most of the summer. If you want something that looks good, holds up over time, and actually keeps you dry, this is a solid pick.

This is a steal for the cost - a REAL umbrella with heft and substance and style.
I bought this because it was as close to a match to my new Outback in Autumn Green with the brown leather interior, and I wanted something that evoked the same luxurious richness and this DELIVERS. It is built exceedingly well with high quality materials and is several cuts above any other umbrella I've bought, named brand and all, in the last decade. It'll be the last brand of umbrella I ever buy. Every future umbrella purchase will be a Balios Prestige.

First time owners and bums agree, this is the best.
Very nicely made though watch that you fold the pleats inward when you go to seat it in the carrying snood. Out of the gate, I tore that accidently and accepted my blame. The umbrella is built like a truck other than that. The solid wood used on the handle of my umbrella would not have been what I would have chosen. I was expecting a tighter grained wood. This looks suspiciously like pine, however, for twenty dollars, who cares? It seems terrific as is.The umbrella is substantial, well sized with a large number of articulated ribs. It will jack you up if you are not paying attention when you open it up or not quite have it closed (the later can cause quite a scene on a crowded bus).I get my exersise closing it up.The tension that allows it to open with such force makes it a little more work to fold it back up.I go through about three umbrellas a season absent-mindedly to public transport, so I can never tell you how long they last, only that there are tourists and bums alike that pick up my "lost" umbrellas.I like this one a lot, and I think the people that find my "lost" ones will agree.

Good overall
I liked the weight and style of the umbrella. I had to exchange one because it came broken at one of the joints. I like the open/close button and the hardware.

Fantastic travel umbrella, compact, sturdy, well made
Compact and easy to carry umbrella. It is sturdy and well made. The wooden handle is smooth and looks great. It is easy to open, and easy to close and fold. Good size to carry around in my bag. I only wished that the strap were attached to the handle of the umbrella instead of the carry pouch.

Love it
This is such a classy umbrella that holds well, and has a nicely designed handle. My first Balios I have ever owned, and was introduced to the brand after seeing my boyfriend’s black Balios. Had been waiting for many months for other colors to come in stock so we don’t have the same color. I don’t anticipate buying another any time soon.

Not that sturdy
At first glance this is a good looking umbrella. The handle makes you feel this is a quality umbrella. However, it feels flimsy when being used. With a little wind, it struggled to open. Returned; couldn't justify the cost given the functional quality.
