RV Roof Repaired
FR 3011DS has a leak somewhere near the restroom on the driver's side. When I found the damage it was all the way to the cap seam. The fiberglass roof had delaminated from the water soaked plywood. I drilled 1/2" holes and sloooowly recovered a solid roof using this deep penetrating resin...100ml at a time. Filled the gap, double sealed the holes, put two coats of coolseal over the entire roof.

Easy to use directions. Good penetration.
If you need to seal something and want it to be more than a coating then this is the stuff you need! I used it to seal and bond some plywood to make a transom board. I am very happy with how it is holding up!

Great Product!!
Excellent product!! For newbies to epoxy - when it says “don’t mix more than you can use in 20 minutes”…the chemical reaction will make it smoke in the container and get REALLY HOT, and harden!! It’s supposed to do that!🤗🤗 Mix small amounts frequently. Happy fixing❤️

Worth every penny
Definitely follow the instructions to a T and use proper PPE. VERY toxic. Worked at stabilizing wood on antique wooden shutters. Took 2 days of good weather to fully cure before using wood filler and painting over

Very slow curing epoxy for sealing wood.
This epoxy setup much slower than I anticipated, and also setup differentely than I had planned. There is nothing wrong with this epoxy. You have around 20 minutes to work with it, as the directions say. After that, it is tacky to the touch for several hours before you can put your hand on it. it remains tacky for about 24 hours. Anything that you lay against the epoxy piece in that 24 hours may become stuck to it.The directions say that it takes 48 hours to cure completely, which seems to be correct. You can use a heat gun to get regular epoxy to soak into wood and cure faster. With this epoxy, heat from a heat gun will cause it to bubble up and turn white. But it cures fine in the hot sun. With a lot more planning and experience using this epoxy, it would probably be fine. But this is a special use epoxy. I've been using it to cure some termite damage on my boat. (Cut the damage out, fill the space, sand it, then seal it with this epoxy.)This epoxy is thinner than most epoxies, and seems to shrink more than most others. All epoxies shrink as they cure, but this one has more shrinkage than I am used to. The fluid nature if this epoxy allows it to soak into wood better. Additives mixed into this epoxy will end as a rough surface on the cured epoxy. I am having to rethink my use of additives and dyes when using it.As I said above, this is a special use epoxy for sealing the surface of wood.

Works great for fixing rotted wood
Had extensive damage on the fascia board on a customer's house. Over the years the previous painters had not properly prepared the wood fascia and just kept repainting over rotted wood. This last winter we had a wet winter here in So Cal and stuff that usually would dry out didn't. When we started scraping the wood, under the peeling paint was just soaked. We literally waited 2 weeks for the wood to dry completely before moving on to the next step. When scraping as long as the wood is still fibrous don't totally dig it out as the epoxy will harden and hold the fibers together. You want a rougher surface for whatever comes next to grip onto. This is where the TotalBoat Clear Penetrating Epoxy Wood Sealer Stabilizer comes in. At first I thought that this stuff was way overpriced but found that a little goes a long way. This epoxy is mixed at a 2 to 1 ratio which is different than most of the other brands so when mixing it you'll need to pay more attention when mixing to make sure the ratio is close. If you try to eyeball it you'll run out of one of the two parts. I used a plastic amber pill bottle and marked different amount levels on the bottle using a Sharpie. I mixed two ounces of resin and one ounce hardener in a red Solo cup like the ones used for beer pong. The instructions say don't mix more than you can use in 20-30 minutes but if it's a cooler day you can go longer.Put some tarps down. Using a disposable chip brush brush the epoxy on liberally and be prepared to hold the cup below where your applying it to catch any that runs off. Work a 5-10 square foot area letting it soak in for a minute or two then reapply over the same area. When working off of tall ladders it helps a lot to have several ladders set up so you can work a larger area before having to stop to move the ladders. You can use a plank or platform between two ladders using ladder jacks but these can be treacherous if not set up properly.Let dry overnight. Fill in damaged areas with Bondo or for deeper areas use epoxy wood putty. Sand, prime, and paint.
