This works in Ventline systems
I used this as a replacement motor or a Ventline bathroom exhaust fan. The original motor had a splined shaft. I was concerned that this smooth shaft may not grip the fan well enough, but the fit is tight and the fan works perfectly. I needed to reverse the rotation for my fan, which was easy. My only complaint is that this unit has slightly smaller mounting studs than the original. This is not a problem except that this motor does not come with nuts for the mounting studs, so I needed to take a trip to the hardware store for the nuts. This appears to be a good solid motor. It's definitely huskier than the motor it is replacing.

Be careful of the model of motor you need.
I bought this as a replacement for MDL 112J2, it has two problems replacing that motor.Shaft is incorrect size and the rotation is CW and it needs to be CCW.I disassembled the motor and reversed the armature making it spin CCW and just pressed the blade on as far as it would go.It's working just fine now and drawing air out as it should.

Needed modification for Older fan unit.
I purchased this as a replacement for an old fan unit in my bathroom. It's a long story, but as far as I can tell, the fan is original to the condo which was built inthe 80's. I made the rounds locally for a replacement motor, but was told it was no longer available. The picture with this unit looks just like the old one we pulled out (I can just imagine the eye rolling and sighing of you guys who actually know something about this.....because I so obviously don't!). Unfortunately, the shaft was too long to fit the very tight clearance of the installed fan box. Fortunately, I knew someone who could make the adjustment to the shaft. So after a small amount of bother, we have it installed and it works great. Installation was quick and easy. The motor is not super quiet, but not bad and quieter than the old one. So the product is great, any issues were my own fault for not paying attention to the shaft length before purchasing the motor.

Great item, I bought this motor to replaced my ...
Great item, I bought this motor to replaced my 20 yr. old bathroom vent fan motor, saved me a ton of money, other wise would of have to modify hold housing and/or opening, it works great as the old one did, electrical cord is kind of short, needed to splice it to make it long enough, old fan assembly fit perfectly. Have been working for 5 months with no problems.

This motor operates fine and is much quieter than the original
This motor operates fine and is much quieter than the original ...... electric cord and drive shaft could have been longer. I had to cut down the existing plastic blower 1/4" to prevent rubbing on the enclosure frame...... I might have ordered an incorrect replacement motor "double check dimensions" before ordering ?

Great Replacement for a Broan exhaust unit
Great Replacement for a Broan exhaust unit. I really dislike home repairs, but this one was a breeze, literally. The motor replaced the old noisy motor and moves the air quite well. Also a note about the motor, the direction can be reversed by flipping the shaft and bearings over if needed, but you shouldn't need to do that. Also the shaft length is incorrect in the description it is 2.75 inches long not 1.25 inches. Just in case that is important for your installation.Broan Replacement Vent Fan Motor # 99080166, 1.4 amps, 3000 RPM, 120 volts

Keeping the air flowing.
If these last as long as my last set of fan motors, well I want need to replace them for at least fifteen years. I HOPE. They work very good and the price was right where I needed it to be.

Very nice price and easy replacement
The only problem I had was replacing the little retaining ring that holds the fan blade to the post. I'm sure there is a tool or a technique for this, but I just found the right size screwdriver that could pry it open enough to let me slip the ring over the fan. This product saved me a lot of money, work, and aggravation because I could not find a reasonable replacement fan for my burnt-out fan that would fit into the 9X15 opening in my ceiling.
