I read the first edition of this book back in 1994. Since then the practice of trusting my team, supporting my team, being direct and honest with my colleagues, stakeholders and team members has been part if my journey in different positions.Anyone who has an iota of interest in organisation behaviour and culture, shall read this book.Whenever, I come across someone who I feel will benefit from this book, I talk about it and sometimes I gift it tooo.

Very practical and humane Organisation structure for long run organisation.Real life example make it easy to understand.

If you manage large organisations especially in manufacturing, I highly recommend this book for you. The workplace Ricardo set up is really unusual and the story is straight from his perspective. It contains enough anecdotes to highlight the how and the whys to help the reader understand the power of self-managed teams. Read this as a guidebook to implement autonomy in your workplace or as a story about creating success in difficult circumstances using unusual methods.
