It's just an ornament
This is a lovely looking little item, but if you're hoping to use it seriously you're going to be disappointed. You'll need 20/20 vision to make out the figures on the dial and the actual compass itself isn't accurate. It does make a nice little ornament/paperweight though. It really is just too small to be used for anything else. It's also pricey for what it is.

Great gift
bought this for my husband, who is very delighted with such an unusual compass. Its quiet heavy and the decoration of the kings crown and date of 1917. Very impressive.It would have helped if a leaflet of how to use it properly would have helped.

Never arrives unbroken
It arrived completely broken. Because it took me longer than two weeks to arrange to return it (I forgot -it was a birthday present for someone), I wasn’t even able to get a refund on the item.What makes it worse is that I found out that, last Christmas, my husband had bought the exact same item for a gift for someone else in the family and it had ALSO arrived completely broken.It looks like it would be a cool item but it’s not worth buying because it always arrives broken and unusable.So I will just have to throw it in the trash and now I’m down £30 with nothing to show for it.

Very solid piece
This finally arrived today having ordered it Mid May. It’s a good looking solid compass and pretty heavy as well. I can’t fault it but only gave 4 stars as no instructions on how to get the best out of it and there was a delay in its arrival by 10 days with no proactive contact from the seller to explain why it had been delayed. It was literally arriving on the 12 th June and on that day the delivery messaged changed to ‘ it’s running late’ or something similar and no further update- I had to contact the seller. If you factor in it’s going to take at least a month to reach you I would recommend the product
